About
Sandbox is Northeastern's student-led software consultancy building software for Northeastern clients. We work closely with clients across Northeastern to help them best leverage computation.
Be Kind

We see kindness as the first step in building an inclusive, supportive, and productive culture. We believe in giving kind and constructive feedback and don't tolerate brilliant jerks.

Learn Together

We aim to grow as developers by seeking technically challenging and interesting projects. We pair program frequently and stop to teach one another new things, even if it slows us down.

Make an Impact

We build projects that make a real impact on our clients and their work. With a pragmatic attitude towards software development, we're able to deliver solutions that are put into use.

Get Involved
For clients

We’re hoping to work with you because we love the challenge of building real products that a client depends on. Whether we’re doing classes, co-op, or personal projects, we rarely get the chance to make the real-world impacts that we can through client work. Additionally, many of our members are interested in experiencing research or are combined majors looking for interdisciplinary experience beyond the classroom.

Our Technical Director will set up a quick meeting and learn more about your needs and how we can help. If we choose to move forward, we’ll sign a contract and commit to working together for a semester or more!

For students

Each team on Sandbox works on one project for the semester. A team includes developers, a project lead, and often a UX designer. Working on Sandbox gives great experience! Yay join us!

join our community slack

Applications open before each semester. After reviewing resumes, we set up interviews.
